Happy New Year!

We have headed down the road once again, continuing our quest to see this beautiful country we call home.  We are snuggled into a comfortable site in the panhandle of Florida at Blackwater River State Park.  Although this is known as the Sunshine State, it seems the sun will be quite elusive for the next several days.  No worries, as we are toasty within our little home on wheels, and feel blessed to be able to live this RV lifestyle.

Soon the final chapter of 2013 will be written, a year for us that included both great joy and challenges.  Although we may not have had a “typical” year, we experienced much that provided valuable introspection and memories to last a lifetime.

In 2014 I look forward to reconnecting with the blogging community.  Too often this year I felt the need to step away from blogging to deal with more pressing life issues. I look forward once again to having my life enriched with your stunning photography, suggestions for books to provide me hours of reading pleasure, travel destinations to dream upon, inspiring words that nurture my soul, technology to enhance our lives and great food suggestions.

Although we will soon close out 2013, we pick up a brand-new book entitled 2014, a book never opened, filled only with blank pages.  What will you imprint on these pages in the upcoming year?  Whatever your plans, I hope you live your dream each and every day and share your passion with the world.  The Buddha said “the secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate problems, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”

My wish for everyone is for abundant good health, both mind and body.  I am not one to make resolutions that I may ultimately break, but this upcoming year I plan to see more sunrises and sunsets, standing in the delicious silence of early morning and basking in the warmth of a glowing setting sun.

Happy New Year everyone!  May you experience hope, great joy, and much lightness and love in the upcoming year.

    • I hope you and Steve are a page in our 2014 book, a beautiful page with images of white sand and golden sunsets, if the sun decides to come out here. 😉 Happy New Year to the two of you for a year full of wonder and grand adventures! 🙂

  • Love your blog. Yes a new year is always exciting! We are still awaiting what may happen with Kent’s folks. Only God knows what this year may bring but we are grateful to have the year to enjoy. I love the idea about enjoying more sunrises and sunsets.

    • Happy New Year to you and Kent! I pray that all will be well with Kent’s folks. We know firsthand how difficult decisions can be when elderly parents are involved.

  • Oh darn – Did I miss my pick-up time? 😉
Welcome back to FL. As soon as you see the sun – please package some of it up & send it my way. I would truly appreciate it!
All the best to you, your hubby & your loved ones in 2014…
    {Hugs}

    • We were waiting for you by the curb but you never showed! 😉 Hope 2014 is a year of wonder, great joy and lots of love for you and your family. 🙂

  • LuAnn and Terry may your New Year be all you want it to be…
it seems when we were younger the year that had just passed was remembered only of the good times, probably because Dad was still looking after us… now when we are required to look after others the year is remembered for its ups and downs, its successes and it failures, its good health as well as the bad and its never remembered in the way of old… only the good times, so my wish for you two is that 2014 will only be good times, healthy times and full of successes and may your travels only be fantastic ones that you share with us… let the past year be forgotten for the times of stress and discomfort and not so good health, and lets look forward only to the best of times… have a good New Year you two and may it only bring what you wish for yourself and your friends…

    • Bulldog, You have written so well what life is like when we are young and carefree, no worries about the future, pains and hurts easily forgotten. Although life does present more challenges that are not so easily set aside as in days of old, I still am grateful for family and friends, the ability to spend my days enjoying all Mother Nature has to offer, good health, and our fantastic blogging community, with all their many talents and such gentle spirits. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful family and look forward to catching up with everyone in 2014. I wish for nothing but great health, deep joy, and much love and laughter for you and Linda in the upcoming year. 🙂

  • I rarely remember dreams, but had a very vivid one last night…. and it came true, fulfilling one of my fondest wishes. I’ll have to tell you about it after I come back down to earth again! 😀

    • Ooohh, sounds deliciously mysterious to me! I can’t wait to hear about it. Gosh Gunta, what can I wish for you in 2014, someone I feel I have known for many years but never met? I guess first my hope is that we meet in this upcoming year, but until we do, I wish you the very best of everything, health, joy, much love, and spectacular scenery to warm our hearts and yours. Happy New Year! 🙂

  • Happy new year LuAnn and Terry! Sounds like you have the perfect spot to see it in with. My family and I are planning an RV trip of our own to the US in June, perhaps I could pick your brains sometime about basic do’s and don’ts. Thanks for your lovely blog, looking forward to seeing much more in 2014 🙂

    • Happy New Year to you Mike! An RV trip to the US sounds like a wonderful plan. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to following along with you in 2014 and hearing more of your beautiful music. 🙂

  • LuAnn and Terry, what a year you have had! It’s so uplifting to see your wonderful positive attitude shining through. We wanted to wish you the Happiest of New Years. We have so enjoyed getting to know you this year and look forward to more of your wonderful posts. 🙂 ~ Terri & James

    • Thanks Terri and James! I feel so fortunate to have discovered your blog and look forward to many more posts to inspire us to get there and see the world! May this upcoming year be filled with great health, grand adventures, and more joy and love that you could possibly imagine! 🙂

  • I am glad, for you, that 2013 is behind you and, literally, sunshine awaits you. I will be anxious to hear what all you do and see while you are on the east coast, but do come back safe and happy. Take lots of great sunrise and sunset pictures, as I do love to see them, and others, too, of course. Happy trails to you!

    • Thanks Joan! Hopefully the sun will show herself here soon but it does not look too promising. It gives me an excuse to stay cuddled up inside and get caught up on several items on my ‘to do’ list. I hope this upcoming year is one of new adventures, great health, and much joy for you. 🙂

  • I’m with MonaLiza and hope to be a page in your 2014 book:) I do hope we land in the same area at some point.

    Sunsets…yes!! Sunrises…I’ll enjoy your photos:)

Wishing you and Terry a wonderful, joyfilled 2014! Travel safely!

    • I do hope that a fabulous hike is in the future for the four of us soon. Until we do meet, I wish you both grand adventures, safe travels, much joy and love in 2014. 🙂

    • Happy New Year to you Roxi! I hope to catch up with your beautiful poetry soon. My wish for you is abundant joy and love in 2014, and continued inspiration to write more fabulous poetry to share with your blogger friends. 🙂

  • Happy, Happy New Year! May you bask in the glow of all the future sunsets and sunrises. May they fill you with richness. And may 2014 be just as wonderful as you are. 🙂

    • Thank you Angelia! I wish you and your family abundant joy and love in 2014 and many more images of that lovely grandbaby to share with the blogging community. 🙂

  • LuAnn and Terry,
Happy New Year to you. Very well said today.

In 2014, hopefully we can meet, walk and get to know each other. We didn’t go far in 2013, but so far for 2014 we have plans to go to Las Vegas in March for a mini family reunion and a six-week trip to Michigan in mid-September to see more family and enjoy fall colors in the Upper Peninsula.

Cheers to a new year filled with new friends and fun adventures.
    Susan & Bob

    • Happy New Year to you as well Susan. We did not go far in 2013 either so we have some lots of travel plans in store for 2014. May you and your family experience great health, abundant joy, much love, and great travel adventures in the upcoming year. 🙂

    • Happy New Year to you and Les! Wish you were still in the Carolinas so we could stop by on our swing up the eastern seaboard this next year. Hope you are enjoying your new home in WI and that you experience great joy, much love, and wonderful health in 2014. 🙂

  • Happy New Year LuAnn and Terry. Thank you for the support you have shown me over the last twelve months. I really appreciate it. Thank you and all the best for the coming twelve months. Happy trails

  • Your post seem to reflect your happiness! Hope that it carries you through 2014 and beyond. We expect to catch up with you in FL sometime in March. We are leaving SESB on January 15th as we have sold our Airstream. More later. Love you guys, Marilyn and Stan

    • We were just talking the other day and wondering if we might see you in Florida this winter. I will have to get in touch with you and learn more about your next plans. Happy New Year to the two of you! 🙂

  • We passed so many RV’s on the road, as we drove back down here from New Jersey over the past three days. I wonder if yours was one of them. Yes, I think you’re quite correct about the sun being a bit scarce at the moment, but at least we have very mild temperatures, so I’m not complaining. Wishing you and Terry a fantastic year, with wonderful travel experiences. Hugs to you both, Sylvia

    • I just said the same to my SIL who lives in IN. Although we are not seeing the sun yet in FL, we are much more fortunate than many in this country. I am enjoying being back on the road, relaxing in nature. The very best to you and your family in 2014 Sylvia. 🙂

  • The header photo is awesome!

My resolution for 2014…Wishing, hoping, and praying for a year of good health, safe travels and discovering new adventures to you and all our family and friends.

    Happy New Year.

  • Happy new year indeed. Seems you’ve been very busy & fruitful this year past, which is all good.

I wish you abundant good health to, to direction, progress, joy & peace 🙂

  • I like the new look. Glad to hear you’re back on the road. We just pulled into Rockport TX today to overcast and rain 😦 Here’s to a fun and adventurous 2014. Sending warm wishes your way 🙂

    • If it makes you feel any better, it is very chilly here and overcast. I don’t think the temp reached 50 today. I know how misery loves company. 😉 Enjoy your time in TX and here’s to seeing the sun soon. 🙂

  • Thank you for this lovely post LuAnn, and for the delightful inspiration for me to see more sunrises and sunsets too (although it can be a bit challenging this far north, with sunsets around 4:35pm!). Warmest wishes for a wonderful 2014. May everything that brings joy and delight to your heart be yours in abundance. Blessings, Gina

  • Thank you very much for following the blog, I really look forward to reading your posts and happy new year 2014. Gede Prama 🙂

  • The panhandle of Florida sounds like the perfect place to start the new year…what a lovely blessing, LuAnn. Just thinking about the warm sunshine there brings up smiles. thank you for a wonderful 2013 and cheers to 2014. ☺

  • I am new to your blog but I have enjoyed “catching up” with you guys. My resolution does have much to do with blogging and my absence in the past couple years. I also want to reconnect with this awesome blogging community that has meant so much to Mike and I in the past. Great post with lots of inspiration. Thanks LuAnn!!

    • Thanks for stopping by Gerri. I look forward to seeing more of you in the blogosphere this year! Many blessings to you and your family in 2014. 🙂

  • You and your hubby are indeed to some beautiful blessings in your life this year ahead!! I wanted to pass along a book I just finished that was fantastic..it is called “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls. I couldn’t put it down. Look it up and let me know what you think. Happy 2014.

  • I, also, enjoyed “The Glass Castle,” and the next book by Jeannette Walls, “Half Broke Horses.” I highly recommend both of these

  • I think your blog’s the only one (oh wait, many Mona Liza and someone else as well, yours I know for sure) that I read all the posts this year even after my hiatus. Know that I’ll stick around for 2014. 😉

  • Hi LuAnn, Happy to know you and Terry are on the road again. The panhandle of Florida is a great place to see sunset. Looking forward to reading your travel journey 🙂 Happy travels!

    • If the weather would cooperate I hope to see some sunsets. Nothing yet but I’m not complaining given what Mother Nature has handed much of the country.

  • Hello there! Would you mind if I share your blog with my myspace group?
There’s a lot of people that I think would really appreciate your content.
Please let me know. Many thanks

Love to know what you're thinking.
