In the stillness
of the morn,
~
a moment before
daylight is born,
~
a fluttering feeling
in my soul,
~
equanimity’s
gentle pull.

Beautifully whispered! Nothing is more beautiful than the light from the rising sun.
I couldn’t agree more!
Ahh!!! This is peaceful and soothing
Needed that today. 🙂
I like what Sheila said – nicely said –
Thanks 🙂
WOW!! That photo made me gasp. Should have that one framed. Just lovely!
Nina
Thanks Nina. Coming from you I will take that as a compliment. Hope you are back in the desert, soaking up a little warmth. 🙂
Great poem and photograph LuLu,
Makes Gayl and I feel like we are back at the beach in our mind’s eye. Rog and Gayl
Glad to give you that image. 🙂
Just beautiful! The image and your verse exude serenity 🙂
I need to see more sunrises. This popped into my head as I looked out at the ocean. 🙂
You just gave me the most peaceful feeling. Thank you.
My pleasure. 🙂
So very eloquently said about the a fluttering feeling… Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem and photo, LuAnn!
My pleasure Amy. 🙂
Gorgeous photo and beautiful poem. How serene and peaceful.
Thanks much!
That’s so nice … both of them
Thanks Alastair.
this is exactly how I feel when I am by the ocean.
Laurie
The sea air, the sound of the surf and the shorebirds, the colors of the morning sun…gotta love it! 🙂
amazing photo and lovely poem! thanks for the tonic for the eyes and soul!z
My pleasure mi amiga! 🙂
Fantastic eye candy! I agree with Nina, this one is looking for a wall to hang on. You almost inspire me to get my lazy behind out of bed before the sun comes us….. 😉
I am not always one to get out the door this early but I promised myself more sunrises this year (where I actually take the photo) and I got lucky on this particular morning. 🙂
It’s them little miracles I referred to in my last post! My problem (well, just one of them) is that I have about a half hour drive to get to the beach. Here in Coquille, I’m surrounded by houses and power lines and stuff… 😉 Now if I could just roll out of bed and have a view like yours (ever changing), that might be a different story.
Believe me, if I had to get into the car and drive to get to the sunrise, it’s not happenin’! 🙂
Both the picture and the poem are beautiful.
Thank you.
Mornings can be so breathtaking as evidenced by your beautiful photo. Arrived in QZ today and ….brrrrr. Hope it warms soon. 🙂
We have a frost advisory here tonight as well so there doesn’t seem to be any getting away from it. I guess the only saving grace is that you could be in Colorado instead! 🙂 Enjoy the Q and we will meet up with you soon.
Yes, I’m trying to remind myself of CO temps and that things could be worse. Hopefully those warm temps will return soon. Stay warm!
You too.
Simply beautiful. i cant write poem like that. Breaking of dawn capture is simply beautiful.
Every once in awhile I am inspired. Stay warm in the Q. 🙂
Captivating, both words and image.
Thank you Lu Ann.
Much love,
mei
Thanks Mei 🙂
Beautiful words with a stunning photo.
Big smiles here coming from a professional photographer 😀
Wow, that’s beautiful. I guess next you’ll be learning to play the piano … I don’t know, when I read your poetry, I just hear a piano tinkling away in the background. Oh … and the Japanese just called, they wanted me to tell you to stay away from the Haiku … “That’s ours”, they said.
Or perhaps you could teach me to play the guitar? I seem to recall a pen party at PJT where a certain Resv Mgr turned into a D Boggs groupie when he started to play! Thanks Devon for the kind words and I don’t think Haiku is in my future, so no worries from the Japanese. 🙂
Beautiful with a fantastic picture to go with!
Thanks Ute.
Absolutely beautiful…..the picture and your poem. A calming, uplifting view….much preferred over the grey skies of Ohio! When are you heading our way? Xoxo Donna
Thanks Donna. It has been sunny here but colder than usual. We are leaving So Cal at the end of this month and will spend Feb in AZ. We plan to be in Ohio around the first part of April. We are looking forward to seeing you both. Hope you are enjoying retirement. 🙂
Wow. A quiet and power message and an absolutely stunning image LuAnn. I instantly feel like I am standing there on the beach after an amazing sunset and listening to the peaceful sounds of waves and the words. What a breathtaking post. Thank you.
I am very touched by your kind words Rick. Thanks so much. 🙂
Love this . . . once I looked up the meaning of equanimity. 🙂
Go to meditation class and you will probably hear this word a lot. 🙂
Beautiful photo, beautiful verse.
Thanks Janie.
lovely..and an amazing photo
Thank you.
Oh LuAnn, I love this….!
The mornings do that for me too… It is when I feel my most quiet and calm; before the day begins… A wonderful time to go walking… 😉
I am definitely a morning person but don’t see enough sunrises from outside our RV. I need to do more of that this year. 🙂
Beautifully whispered.and an amazing photo Hugs!
Thanks Stefan. 🙂
Thank you to my friend have nice day
How absolutely lovely is your sunrise and your verse, LuAnn. 🙂
Thanks AD. 🙂
Where ish thish taken?
Ow, you got mail!
It was taken almost right outside our door, within the state beach where we are, on the stairs leading down to the beach.
Right outside your door. Huh! How I wish I can say the same!!!
It is a pretty special place for sure. I am working on a post right now about our kayaking adventure into the ocean. Wish you could have been here for that. 🙂
Beautiful LuAnn ~ both your soothing words – and this gorgeous scene! x RL
You made my day Robyn. 🙂
So perfectly beautiful LuAnn, Both the photograph and your words. Please write more, I love your writing, and keep taking photographs you really are quite amazingly talented dear friend! 🙂
I will continue to write Penny. For the past several weeks I have felt the need to step away from the computer a bit. I find it difficult to balance the many blog sites I want to visit and respond to all my commenters without spending so many hours at the computer. Taking photos and being out in nature is so important to me that I was beginning to feel a bit stressed. I found myself writing while sitting down at the beach or composing while walking along the beach so now to put them into posts with photos. Thanks always for the encouragement Penny.
Beautiful, LuAnn. There’s a soft breathy quality to both the picture and the words. Stunning.
Thanks Marylin.
