Kindred, indeed. This has been a topic I’ve crusaded on for umpteen years. One good thing about the RV lifestyle is it forces you to eliminate a lot of the unnecessary “stuff”. Don’t know if you’ve seen this blog, but it combines the two themes (eliminating “stuff” and RVing): http://wp.me/p1WC6i-26Z
I haven’t but I will definitely be checking it out. Thanks Gunta. 🙂
I agree with this video, but we could improve on this faster, if we could convince our law makers to stop taking so much money from the corporations so the corporations can achieve what they want: MORE MONEY AND CONTROL!!
Good luck with that one!
beautiful post,my dear friend have nice day!
You too Stefan. 🙂
LuAnn, I understand the need to step away from all the electronics from time to time. Sometimes we just need to meditate as you do, talk long walks, listen to music, etc. I myself have walked away from TV. I used to take Yoga and Tai Chi classes and really enjoyed them. I need to go back to these two activities.
Glad to see someone else understands. There is a book called “The Shallows” by Nicholas Carr that I read a couple of years ago that I found to be fascinating. It is about what the Internet is doing to our brains. Meditating, yoga, taking long walks on the beach, and listening to soothing music was calling out to me. I am beginning to feel refreshed once again. 🙂
Good to have a break, LuAnn… I take ‘time out’ every weekend (usually), and try to have a day or two to myself (and everything else I have to do) during the week; we’ll burn out otherwise…!
I just read your response above to ‘Sheila’… good for you; meditating, yoga, long walks, etc., are an absolute must in my life too. I then want to sit in front of this contraption (computer) and read/share. If it feels like ‘work’, I know it’s time for ‘time out’… 😉
What a great video! It certainly spells out what I’ve been thinking for years.
We have had some changes with elderly parent issues as of late so our attention has been elsewhere lately. I will most likely be doing a post on this soon.
Sorry to hear that, LuAnn…
Take care…
We are blessed that my husband’s parents are still with us. 🙂
Great post! Enjoyed the video and shared it!
I’m glad Gunta turned me on to it.
I too find it refreshing to step away from the computer…..obviously since I’m way behind on my postings. FYI… I nominated you for the Sunshine Award. I know you don’t participate in these awards but I love your writing and photos way too much not to mention your blog and share with others. I look forward to future posts AND meeting you sometime 🙂
Thanks so much Ingrid. You are right, I am touched whenever anyone nominates me but I haven’t been participating in them. I love following you and Al and have watched your photography skills blossom in a short period of time (little envious over here 🙂 ). One day we hope to meet as I feel we would have much in common. Until then, I will follow you via your blog and live vicariously through the two of you, particularly in places we have yet to see. 🙂
Thanks….I look forward to the day we finally meet. I know our paths will cross 🙂
A lovely video and what it symbolises. It resonates for me. Thank you.
