We are snuggled into St. George Island State Park, and although fog and rain have been plentiful, the sun has yet to make an appearance. Rumor has it that we may see this golden orb sometime tomorrow, which would be wonderful as we hit the road on Monday.

Peering through raindrops cascading down the window, I noticed our neighbor taking photos of the inside of her electrical box. The rain had stopped so we decided to see if she was having a problem. No problem at all; quite the contrary.
It seemed to be raining tree frogs!

Penny was snapping photos of these adorable little guys who were hopping all over her electrical box. I decided to join in on the fun.
I adore frogs so imagine my delight when I caught this little cutie coming closer to have a better look. All at once, a flash of green as he sailed from the electrical box onto my sleeve and from there into my hood. For a moment I thought I had found my little prince, but sadly he decided to move on. A bright spot in a very rainy day! 🙂
More wind than rain here today. It’s been a very dry year here (setting records). I should have gone out to the beach with really high surf warnings, but was too lazy…. (yawn)
We looked like we were parked in a small pond when the rains subsided today. Other then the excitement of the frogs (doesn’t take much to entertain me), it was a lazy day here as well. 🙂
You are too funny! Did you kiss your little frog? Thanks for sharing. Did you get to do anything else today?
He got away before I could kiss my little prince. 😉 It rained buckets here today so nothing else to do but cook. I should have some new recipes for you soon. Hope you are feeling better.
Yikes, I thought that little guy was going to go down the back of your shirt. We had a beautiful day here in Texas so I’m sure tomorrow will be lovely in FL. Safe travels 🙂
I was wondering myself if I might have to retrieve him from the back of my shirt. 😉 The sun is shining here today so we are off to explore. Enjoy TX!
As soon as I finished your post, my first thought was “readit”
You are tooo funny! 🙂
🙂
I’ll be glad to see your recipes, soon. On Monday, I’ll be making Broccoli, Cannellini Bean and Cheddar Soup. I had to look up what cannellini beans were. Why don’t they just say, white kidney beans?
Now that would be too easy, wouldn’t it? 😉
Sorry you had a rainy day. We finally got
some sun yesterday and had blue skies til noon when a few clouds appeared. But boy is it humid. I was soaked after an hour walk.
I love all the tree frogs. I found a little frog in the grill cover today. I think it is a tree frog!
Hope you get some sun:)
We do have some sun today so we are off to get some exercise as we both have cabin fever. I know what you mean about the humidity; I’m already feeling it. It’s no wonder we love the west so much! 🙂
Ohhhhhhhh! So cute!
They were adorable! 🙂
Adorable photos , like your captions! They look Soooooo tiny!
They were very tiny and everywhere and boy could they fly! 🙂
They are so cute!!!! I guess all the rain got them on the move!! Enjoy your new friends!!!! 🙂
They were darling little fellas! Thanks for stopping by Gerri. 🙂
So adorable! We’ve been enjoying the symphony of tree frogs here at Ochlockonee River State Park (just 40 miles south of where you are). And the sun peeked out late this afternoon! Yay!
I love your blog Laurel and our bird photos are fabulous!
There is nothing better than the sound of the sea and all the creatures of the forest. We are so blessed! 🙂
How cute, soo tiny 🙂 Hope you get sunshine tomorrow, can’t going on like this…
The sun is shining right now so all is good! 🙂
YAY!!! 🙂
😀
Those little things are so cute. Our sister-in-law collects anything dealing with frogs. She must have a couple hundred items from outdoor items to a frog Santa. They are all adorable.
I still have a few in storage as well. These little guys were everywhere. You had to be careful where you walked. 🙂
Those frogs are so cool!
They were adorable and everywhere! 🙂
Wow that is amazing… I love this post… wonder if they had taken up residence in the box to get out of the wet and cold ??
I am guessing that was part of it but there were also some hearty souls on the ground so you had to be careful where you placed your foot.
Those frogs are so small and cute and so many…. you probably had quite a job kissing them all finding the prince among them… 🙂
Actually Ute he flew to me, which was quite a shock when he took to the air and landed on my arm. 🙂
Haha a flying prince…. 🙂 You are lucky!
I am going to believe it is a good omen! 🙂
Green frogs! I would have joined in the fun. Do they sing like the Coquis in PR? Where ever you are heading to, you will be met with sun, clouds and humidity 😦
Not much singing coming from these little guys but boy could they fly! We are heading to Cedar Key tomorrow, the points south. Are you still planning to be in the Miami area the middle of Feb? We are booked into Markham Park beginning Feb 13 for a week and are thinking, unless your plans have changed, that we might have a meet-up. 🙂
The sun is out today and I already feel the humidity. 😦
So cute!! Great shots!!!
Thanks Rexlin!
ohhhhhhhhh how cool! I love frogs 😉
Me too! 🙂
I’ve heard tree frogs “singing” in my old neighborhood in Colorado, but never could spot them. No wonder, they are teeny tiny!
They are very tiny. What was funny is that we never heard them in the trees and they disappeared after that day.
I love these little frogs LuAnn. We have one as a permanent resident that does his daytime hide on our screen porch. As long as they eat bugs, they’re fine by me. ~James
I find them to be adorable! I was rather stunned when that little guy just seemed to fly at me. 🙂
That is very cool. So glad you “caught” them!
Me too! We never saw them again after that day.
just too much fun! wish i had been there to see that!
They were adorable! Hope you and Les are enjoying Wisconsin.
The color of these frogs is almost electric!!! They are so cute…but if they jumped on me too quick I might scream…LOL.
It was pretty wild. They were everywhere and this one little guy just looked like he was watching me, then he flew! 🙂
How unexpectedly delightful. Even rainy days can be fun. Great to see you out and around again.
It is nice to be on the move again and perhaps the sun will continue to shine for a bit. 🙂
Wow that is a lot of frogs!!!! Hope you see the sun soon. It is snowing here today but very pretty.
The sun has finally appeared so we are going out to explore Cedar Key. 🙂
Oh my, you two are in one of my most favorite places in the US (the Gulf Coast of FL) for sun and sand and I’m delighted to hear you two are down there, but sorry to hear you had some rain. But, down there it DOES make everything greener, including those frogs. Safe and happy travels you two. {}
Thanks Rick. When we were heading to Florida I reminded hubby of your trip here and some of the wonderful photography you showed us on your blog. I seem to recall Ocala and the horses. Am I remembering correctly? I may have to go back and revisit some of those posts. 🙂
So sorry I’m a bit late in replying LuAnn. Catching up on 4 months of work has left me a bit breathless at times in trying to catch up with the world, but alas, now I’m free for a bit. Oh yes you remember perfectly my comments about Ocala. It is a place like no where else in Florida. In fact, when you arrive there (at least during the winter months) you’ll honestly believe you took a wrong turn and ended up in Kentucky. What’s great is that it’s a place you can always return to if it doesn’t fit on your itinerary this time through. And, that entire area of the Panhandle that you’re in is filled with sights that will always delight. Bon Decour Nat. Wildlife Refuge for example is great for beaching, hiking, critter watching, and photography! But too, there are hundreds more. Hope you’re still having a great time.
Thanks so much for the comment Rick. We are having a wonderful time. This is my first opportunity to explore FL in this depth and I am soaking it up! Hope all is well with you. 🙂
You can enjoy it even more now that I can tell you that the temperature up here this morning was TWO degrees! Fortunately, I leave tomorrow for a 5-day photo assignment down by Tampa. Best wishes to you both for safe and happy travels.
We have friends who just left Columbus to join us in Clearwater tomorrow. Even though the temps are unseasonably cool here, 50 degrees sounds much more appealing! 🙂
So tiny & cute! 🙂
They were so adorable! 🙂
You do know about that movie “Magnolia”, eh? It’s an award-winning movie so it’s good suggestion. The scene with the raining frogs was so controversial. If that really is true, then I’d hope they’d be as cute as those ones you showed here.
I’m guessing these little guys were attracted to the warmth inside the electrical box but not sure, as there were many around the box on the ground also. Perhaps they were just waiting there turn in the box! 😉 Whatever, it was pretty cool! 🙂
Have you seen Magnolia though? It shows a scene where it rained with frogs, which is according to the bible. One gifted prodigy kid was not surprised of the rare occurence. It was a very intriguing scene.
No I haven’t but I bet Netflix has it so I will definitely check it out.
how adorable and so better than toads. they look so tiny…are they fully grown? thanks for this wonderful moment…i enjoyed it so. 🙂
They were very tiny. Since they are tree frogs, I don’t believe they get much larger than this.
